The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) โ Misamis Oriental kick-started the conduct of the Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangay (SGLGB) Pre-Assessment last April 7-10, 2025 with the municipalities of Medina and Villanueva. The pre-assessment for 19 barangays of Medina was held on April 7โ9, 2025 at Hotel Conchita, Cagayan de Oro City, while Villanuevaโs two mentored barangays were assessed on April 10, 2025 at the DILG Provincial Office Function Hall.
During her opening message, DILG Misamis Oriental Provincial Director Engr. Marisia C. Naybe shared Simon Sinekโs quote, โLeadership is not about being in charge; it is about taking care of those in your charge,โ which emphasizes that leadership is primarily about serving and caring for the people under oneโs responsibility, rather than just holding a position of authority.

April 3, 2025 โ Jasaan, Misamis Oriental, Philippines โ The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Misamis Oriental successfully conducted an inspection of the Construction of Dumaguok Bridge in Barangay Upper Jasaan, Jasaan, Misamis Oriental.
The inspection was led by DILG Misamis Oriental Provincial Director Engr. Marisia C. Naybe, EnP, CESE, along with PDMU Engineers Engr. Jonathan B. Comcom and Engr. Clinico G. Cabeltes Jr. Also present were Municipal Local Government Operations Officer of Jasaan Ma. Nilda C. Veloso, the Municipal Engineering Office led by Engr. Vincent Paul B. DILG Misamis Oriental initiated the CY 2025 Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) Functionality Assessment on April 3, 2025. This evaluation of City and Municipal Councils (C/MCPC) aims to enhance child protection programs province-wide. The Provincial Inter-Agency Monitoring Task Force (PIMTF) convened, led by DILG-Misamis Oriental and the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), with representatives from DepEd, PPDO, PHO, and Balay Mindanaw, ensuring a collaborative review.

Gingoog City, March 13-14, 2025 โ The City of Gingoog recently hosted a training titled โUnderstanding the Basic Engineering Concepts for Non-Engineers in Monitoring and Evaluating Disaster-Risk Reduction Infrastructure Projects,โ held on March 13-14, 2025. The two-day event aimed to enhance the capacity of local government personnel in monitoring and assessing infrastructure projects focused on disaster-risk reduction.
The training was attended by representatives from a variety of departments, including the City Agriculture Office, Agricultural Bio-System, City Veterinary Office, City Social Welfare and Development Office, City Environment and Natural Resources and Management Office, City Health Office, Gingoog City United Colleges, CDRRMO, and the CPDO-Housing and Resettlement Division. This collaborative participation was a critical step in strengthening Gingoogโs local government personnelโs technical skills and promoting effective coordination across departments involved in disaster-risk reduction.

The activity aimed to assess the functionality and sustainability of several locally-funded projects, particularly those funded by the national government. The Municipality of Jasaan, Misamis Oriental marked the official turnover of several key infrastructure projects under the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) programs for FY 2022 (LGSF-SBDP) and FY 2021 (LGSF-FALGU) on February 20, 2025.
The ceremonial turnover, led by Municipal Mayor Hon. Redentor J. Jardin, DILG 10 Officer-in-Charge Yvette T. Tolentino-Sunga, and MLGOO Ma. Nilda Veloso, was attended by Punong Barangays, officials, and community members who worked tirelessly to bring these projects to life. The projects include:
