𝗗𝗜𝗟𝗚 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗶𝘀 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗲-𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆𝘀’ 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗚𝗟𝗚𝗕 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲
𝗖𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗡 𝗗𝗘 𝗢𝗥𝗢 𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗬, 𝗔𝗽𝗿. 𝟮𝟯–𝟮𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Misamis Oriental, through its Medina field office, successfully conducted a two-day pre-assessment activity aimed at strengthening the preparedness of barangays for the upcoming 2026 Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangays (SGLGB) assessment. The activity was held at Hotel Conchita, Cagayan de Oro City.
The initiative gathered key barangay officials, including Punong Barangays, Sangguniang Barangay Members under the Committee on Appropriations, Barangay Treasurers, and Barangay Secretaries. Participants presented and organized their respective documentary requirements in accordance with the draft technical guidelines for this year’s SGLGB.
Leading the activity was the Provincial Pre-Assessment Team composed of Provincial Director Engr. Marisia C. Naybe, EnP, MPA, CESE; Cluster Head Jay Niel C. Añasco, CESE; Program Manager Alexander M. Miego; MLGOO Aimee Flor C. Balingit; MLGOO Lorna M. Cabilla; and LGOO Maria Kristina O. Ramuga. The team facilitated the review process, with each member assigned to evaluate specific core and essential governance areas.
Throughout the pre-assessment, the team provided technical guidance and hands-on support to ensure that barangays clearly understood the standards and indicators of the SGLGB. At the conclusion of the activity, participants received detailed feedback highlighting their strengths, identifying areas for improvement, and outlining practical recommendations to address compliance gaps.
The activity also served as an important platform for dialogue, enabling local officials to raise concerns, seek clarifications, and exchange best practices in governance.
DILG Misamis Oriental emphasized that the pre-assessment is a proactive measure to help barangays meet national governance standards and enhance service delivery at the grassroots level.
With strengthened capacity and improved documentation, participating barangays are now better positioned to meet the rigorous requirements of the SGLGB. The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Misamis Oriental continues to champion gender-responsive governance by supporting the conduct of the 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿-𝗦𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗢𝗽𝗼𝗹, 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗶𝘀 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 on 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟯, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲. The initiative aims to recognize and encourage exemplary efforts of local government offices in mainstreaming Gender and Development (GAD) principles, while underscoring the importance of gender equality, inclusivity, and responsive public service in building more effective and people-centered local governance.
The activity gathered various offices of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Opol, each presenting their programs, policies, and best practices that demonstrate the integration of GAD principles into their respective mandates, systems, and operations. Through these presentations, participating offices showcased their initiatives in fostering equitable workplaces and delivering services that are more inclusive and accessible to all.
Serving as members of the panel of judges were Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) Consuelo B. Barbaso and Jay Niel C. Añasco, CESE, Cluster Head of DILG Misamis Oriental.
Through this undertaking, DILG Misamis Oriental reaffirms its commitment to empowering local government units to become more gender-responsive institutions and to further strengthen the mainstreaming of GAD in local governance. More than a recognition mechanism, the Search for Most Gender-Sensitive Office serves as a catalyst for continuous improvement among government offices, reinforcing the vital role of gender mainstreaming in advancing equitable, inclusive, and effective public service delivery. 𝗗𝗜𝗟𝗚 𝗠𝗶𝘀.𝗢𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮, 𝗢𝗽𝗼𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗟𝗧𝗜𝗔 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Misamis Oriental, through Cluster Head Jay Niel C. Añasco, CESE, and DILG Opol Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) Consuelo B. Barbaso, provided technical assistance to Barangay Barra, Opol on 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟯, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, in preparation for the upcoming Regional Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) Assessment. Barangay Barra will represent the Province of Misamis Oriental as its official nominee under the 1st Class Municipality Category.
The activity centered on the review and enhancement of documentary requirements, validation of compliance with prescribed standards, and provision of guidance to the Lupon Tagapamayapa Members in effectively presenting their mechanisms, innovations, and best practices. Particular emphasis was placed on aligning the barangay’s submissions with the established evaluation criteria, while ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and proper organization of reports to aptly demonstrate its performance and commitment to good governance.
Moreover, strategic inputs and recommendations were provided to further improve the quality, responsiveness, and relevance of the barangay’s documentation vis-à-vis the assessment indicators. Discussions were likewise conducted with the Lupon Tagapamayapa Members to clarify guidelines, address identified gaps, and reinforce the importance of sustained compliance, responsiveness, and innovation in local governance.
This undertaking underscores DILG Misamis Oriental’s proactive role in capacitating local government units and reflects its steadfast commitment to promoting excellence, accountability, and effective service delivery at the grassroots level. (DILG MisOr | 𝙎. 𝘽𝙤𝙗𝙤𝙧𝙤𝙡)
𝘿𝙄𝙇𝙂 𝙈𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙨 𝙊𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙨 𝙁𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙁𝙔 2024 𝙎𝙂𝙇𝙂𝙄𝙁 – 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙛 𝘼𝙢𝙥𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖 𝘼𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙍𝙤𝙖𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙎𝙪𝙜𝙗𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙘𝙤𝙜𝙤𝙣
𝗦𝗨𝗚𝗕𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗖𝗢𝗚𝗢𝗡, 𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗦 𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗟 – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Misamis Oriental Provincial Office conducted the final inspection of the FY 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLGIF) project titled “Concreting of Ampianga Access Road” located in Barangay Ampianga, Municipality of Sugbongcogon on March 18, 2026.
The inspection was carried out in close coordination with Mr. Jacillo D. Orongan, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) of Sugbongcogon. The inspection team was composed of Engr. Clinico G. Cabeltes Jr. of DILG Misamis Oriental, along with representatives from the Municipal Engineering Office. Representatives of the project contractor were also present during the on-site inspection.
The activity aimed to validate the completion of the project and ensure that all components were implemented in accordance with the approved Program of Works, Detailed Engineering Design (DED), and standards set under the SGLGIF program. The inspection team conducted a comprehensive assessment of the road’s condition, construction quality, and compliance with engineering requirements.
The concreting of the Ampianga Access Road is expected to significantly improve mobility and accessibility in the area, particularly benefiting farmers and residents by facilitating the efficient transport of agricultural products and essential goods. The project is also seen to enhance connectivity, reduce travel time and transportation costs, and contribute to the socio-economic development of the community. (𝘿𝙄𝙇𝙂𝙈𝙞𝙨𝙊𝙧|𝙂.𝙀𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙨)
