The Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental, through its Provincial Engineering Office, and in coordination with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 10 initiated a pre-construction meeting on July 23, 2026 for the Rehabilitation of the Nature and Family Park (Zones 1 and 2) under the FY 2024 Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) โ Green Green Green Program at the Provincial Capitol Compound, Cagayan de Oro City.
Engr. Clinico G. Cabletes, Jr., PDMU Engineer represented DILG Provincial Director Naybe during the meeting. The activity was held at Hotel Conchita, Cagayan de Oro City.
The initiative gathered key barangay officials, including Punong Barangays, Sangguniang Barangay Members under the Committee on Appropriations, Barangay Treasurers, and Barangay Secretaries. Participants presented and organized their respective documentary requirements in accordance with the draft technical guidelines for this yearโs SGLGB.
Leading the activity was the Provincial Pre-Assessment Team composed of Provincial Director Engr. Marisia C. Naybe, EnP, MPA, CESE; Cluster Head Jay Niel C. Aรฑasco, CESE; Program Manager Alexander M. Miego; MLGOO Aimee Flor C. Balingit; MLGOO Lorna M. Cabilla; and LGOO Maria Kristina O. Ramuga. The inspection was carried out in close coordination with Mr. Jacillo D. Orongan, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) of Sugbongcogon. The inspection team was composed of Engr. Clinico G. Cabeltes Jr. of DILG Misamis Oriental, along with representatives from the Municipal Engineering Office. Representatives of the project contractor were also present during the on-site inspection.
The activity aimed to validate the completion of the project and ensure that all components were implemented in accordance with the approved Program of Works, Detailed Engineering Design (DED), and standards set under the SGLGIF program. The inspection team conducted a comprehensive assessment of the roadโs condition, construction quality, and compliance with engineering requirements.

Claveria, Misamis Oriental โ January 26, 2026 โ The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) conducted a documentation activity on good practices in water management, identifying the Municipality of Claveria, Misamis Oriental as a commendable local government unit (LGU) for learning exchange and good practice documentation.
The activity was successfully carried out through the facilitation and coordination of Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) Isadora C. Cabildo and was led by the DILG Regional Office team headed by Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU) Chief Maria Antonieta A. Porol, together with Engr. Kenneth J. Alpas and PEO Al-Aziz W. Bandar. They were joined by the DILG Misamis Oriental Provincial Office team led by Provincial Director Marisia C. Naybe, CESE, EnP, along with Engr. Clinico G. Cabeltes, Jr. and PEO Guanalyn S. Estabas.
The local government of Claveria was represented by the Office of the Mayor, headed by Hon. Reynante L. The documentation activity focused on capturing Claveriaโs successful strategies in sustainable water management and improved service delivery. The process involved on-site visits and interviews on Claveriaโs water management initiatives. The activity was attended by DILG Misamis Oriental Process Owners, comprising Provincial Office personnel and City and Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (C/MLGOOs). It served as a venue to align strategies, review audit requirements and documents, and ensure office-wide readiness for the forthcoming internal assessment. The meeting also provided an opportunity to revisit Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and reorient personnel on updated processes to promote a common understanding and consistent implementation.

Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental, Jan. 15 --, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 10, through its Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU), conducted a site inspection of the ongoing Improvement of Bal-ason Farm-to-Market Road under the RAPID Growth Project in Barangay Bal-ason, Gingoog City.

In line with strengthening disaster risk reduction and management effortsโespecially with the upcoming holiday seasonโthe Misamis Oriental Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) convened its 4th Quarter 2025 Meeting earlier today, December 19, 2025, via the Zoom platform. The meeting was presided over by DILG Misamis Oriental, in its capacity as Vice Chairperson for Preparedness, represented by Cluster Head Jay Niel C. Aรฑasco, CESE.
Serving as a platform to reinforce preparedness, security, vigilance, and inter-agency collaboration, the council discussed measures to ensure public safety during the holiday period. Anchored in the Regional Institutional Development Support (RIDS) Program, the activity aimed to enhance LGUs' capacity to identify, develop, and implement initiatives to safeguard their inland wetlands, which play a vital role in sustaining biodiversity and community livelihoods. Through a series of lectures and guided workshops, participants gained a deeper appreciation of the ecological importance of wetlands, the threats they face, and the strategic interventions that LGUs can adopt.

The activity gathered representatives from various national and local government offices who worked hand in hand to ensure that the municipalityโs programs and initiatives for peace, order, and public safety are aligned with a clear direction and strengthened through collaboration.
Through the POPS Planning, the LGU and its partners aim to enhance peace and order initiatives, improve public safety mechanisms, and build community resilience. The DILG Misamis Oriental and NYC spearheaded the 2024 SK Performance Assessment to evaluate the accomplishments and effectiveness of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Councils in carrying out their mandates and responsibilities to their youth constituents. This initiative also served as a vital platform to assess the impact and sustainability of their implemented programs, projects, and activities (PPAs) in advancing youth development at the grassroots level.
As a result of the assessment and to give recognition of their exemplary performance, the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental conferred Certificates of Recognition and printers to the Top Five (5) SK Federation Presidents and Top Ten (10) Youth Development Officers (YDOs), as well as Certificates and laptops to the Top Twenty (20) outstanding SK Councils across the province.

Misamis Oriental โ On September 5, 2025, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Misamis Oriental, through its Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU), conducted the Local Infrastructure Monitoring and Evaluation (LIME) 20 activity. This initiative aimed to facilitate the simultaneous encoding of infrastructure projects funded under the 20% Local Development Fund (LDF) into the SubayBayan Systemโthe official online platform for monitoring and evaluating locally funded infrastructure projects.
The activity commenced with an opening message from Provincial Director Engr. Marisia C. Naybe, who underscored the importance of accurate and timely project data in ensuring effective monitoring, promoting transparency, and enhancing accountability in the implementation of local development initiatives.

In line with its continued commitment to improving Water, Sanitation, and Health (WASH) outcomes, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Misamis Oriental conducted the Results-Based Monitoring and Evaluation (RBME) assessment for WASH on September 4, 2025, in the Municipality of Lagonglong.
In coordination with DILG Lagonglong โ MLGOO Lorna M. Cabilla, the assessment team composed of Engr. Jonathan B. Comcom (DILG Misamis Oriental PDMU) and Engr. Kenneth J. Alpas (DILG Region 10 PDMU), together with LGOO Engr. Jelachrise S. Baconawa-Adlawan, successfully gathered baseline data using the following tools: WASH Sector Outcome Monitoring Form (Form A), WASH Component Outcome Monitoring Form (Form b, and the WASH RBME Monitoring Tool C. These instruments enabled the team to systematically assess sector performance, component outcomes, and the overall implementation of the municipality's WASH program.

August 20, 2025 | Limketkai Luxe Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City - The Philippine Councilors League (PCL) successfully conducted the Provincial Federation Election for Misamis Oriental on August 20, 2025, at the Limketkai Luxe Hotel in this city.
The event brought together municipal and city councilors from across the province, in accordance with PCL Resolution No. 03, series of 2025 and DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2025-050 to elect a new set of officers who will serve for the 2025-2028 term.
The election was overseen by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) - Misamis Oriental, led by Provincial Director Engr. Marisia C. Naybe, EnP, CESE, who also served as the Chairperson of the PCL COMELEC. Naybe, CESE, EnP, and with the assistance of the Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU) staff, conducted a technical assistance and briefing session for beneficiary Local Government Units (LGUs) under the FY 2025 Local Government Support Fund โ Support and Assistance Fund to Participatory Barangays (LGSF-SAFPB).
The activity was attended by engineering and planning officers from LGUs Binuangan, Sugbongcogon, and Libertad, all of which are recipients of the FY 2025 LGSF-SAFPB in the province of Misamis Oriental. The briefing aimed to ensure that participating LGUs are equipped with the proper guidance and technical knowledge necessary for the timely and complete submission of documentary requirements, which include, among others, the Project Proposal, Detailed Engineering Design (DED), Program of Works (POW), and necessary permits and clearances.

On July 11, 2025, Department of the Interior Local Government (DILG) Misamis Oriental, through its Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU) engineers and Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Consuelo Barbaso, participated in the official turnover ceremony for the improved Nangcaon Farm-to- Market Road in Barangay Nangcaon, Opol, Misamis Oriental. The project was implemented under the Rural Agro-Enterprise Partnership for Inclusive Development and (RAPID Growth) Project, which aims to enhance rural infrastructure and promote inclusive economic development.

On July 10, 2025, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Misamis Oriental, through Engineer Jonathan B. Comcom, conducted an inspection of the FALGU -funded project titled โRehabilitation and Improvement of Public Market in Barangay Poblacionโ located in the Municipality of Kinoguitan, Misamis Oriental.

๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ | The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Misamis Oriental, as the Chairperson of the Provincial Inter-Agency Monitoring Team (PIMT), spearheaded the ongoing Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (LCAT-VAWC) Functionality Assessment of the LGUs of Misamis Oriental on June 9, 2025.
The assessment is conducted to evaluate the performance and full functionality of the LCAT-VAWC as well as determine the issues and gaps in order to ensure that this mechanism is effective in addressing trafficking and violence against women and their children and responds to the needs of the vulnerable and marginalized sectors of society.
The LCAT-VAWC serves as a key mechanism that ensures local governments actively protect the rights and well-being of women and their children, working toward a future free from violence and exploitation.

Cagayan de Oro City โ The training was attended by various LGUs from Region X. Representing the province of Misamis Oriental were the LGUs of Binuangan, Magsaysay, Lagonglong, and the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental. The sessions were led by Regional PDMU Engineers โ Engr. Kenneth J. Alpas, Engr. Jay Vanny S. Orabao, and Engr. Ma. Neziel T. Dinorog โ who shared their technical expertise throughout the activity.
The training aimed to enhance the capacity of local government units (LGUs) in designing water system projects that meet national standards. The sessions covered essential topics such as water source assessment, source development, source considerations, and engineering surveys. Participants also received hands-on training on the use of EPANET software; an industry-standard tool used for hydraulic modeling of water distribution systems.
Workshops were conducted after each technical session, allowing participants to apply their learning and present their outputs. This practical approach ensured better retention and application of the technical knowledge shared.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) โ Misamis Oriental kick-started the conduct of the Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangay (SGLGB) Pre-Assessment last April 7-10, 2025 with the municipalities of Medina and Villanueva. The pre-assessment for 19 barangays of Medina was held on April 7โ9, 2025 at Hotel Conchita, Cagayan de Oro City, while Villanuevaโs two mentored barangays were assessed on April 10, 2025 at the DILG Provincial Office Function Hall.
During her opening message, DILG Misamis Oriental Provincial Director Engr. Marisia C. The two-day event aimed to enhance the capacity of local government personnel in monitoring and assessing infrastructure projects focused on disaster-risk reduction.

The Municipality of Jasaan, Misamis Oriental marked the official turnover of several key infrastructure projects under the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) programs for FY 2022 (LGSF-SBDP) and FY 2021 (LGSF-FALGU) on February 20, 2025.
